exhaustion

i am sleepy but can't fall asleep. oh wait, i havent tried yet.

this weekend was a whirlwind of events... 

- where when i first got home, a surprise dinner was planned for a friend who's leaving for Argentina to study abroad (shoutout to everyone who went to Howard's for Juanita's going away get together!) 

- where i ended up with my very own car. i'm exhausted... 

- where i had to wake up at 6:30 am this morning to drop off my parents

- where i had to stay awake to pick up my sister from cedars sinai from work at 7:30-7:45

- where i had some frozen yogurt with my little brother and bought hamster treats

- where some very sad and unfortunate news led me to Chinatown where i spent most of my day

- where a 1 hr drive by myself [in my car!] took me back to school

and now i am exhausted...

man, i hope it isn't raining outside. i want to walk from campus to the University Village. here's the situation for us UC Riverside students:
+ Point A - the actual UCR campus...
+ Point B - University Village, which is down the street... 10-15 mins walking distance from campus.
   Students have to get from Point A to Point B because @ the UV there is a UV Theater where lectures are held. All sorts of lectures, not only for certain majors or anything. So all sorts of students have to walk to the UV from the UCR main campus. and that is the trek i must take... unless it is raining.

ugh i wish it was Thursday already... all the fun, not necessarily "good" shows are on... ABDC & Taking the Stage.. since the Winter Olympics on NBC took Chuck and Heroes away... :( but woooohooo Winter Olympics! and i wish it were Thursday because i want it to be Friday already! because errrrrybody wants it to be Friday!

i got my history discussion and french class today. tonight is my last french lecture and from here on out it's movies and review! coooool mais un peu triste. 

but oh man, i made an awesome chicken alfredo linguine with asparagus last night! it was DELICIOUS. i think it's good to be able to create recipes yourself because it can be used later on in your life for that future family youre gonna have :)

isnt it sad that i think i need some caffeine assitance from coffee to get my bowels moving in the morning? and BOY, DO THEY MOVE. :D:Dsorry if that was T.M.I... but my life is basically T.M.I. [T.M.I. = too much information]

all this time, i thought my brother was becoming a no-goodnik with his friends, but they were really up to something productive and interesting... i have to leave it at that.

all this time, i thought i had been unlucky... but it turns out that luck is still in the air. Big time. But no one is going to be as lucky in love as you -- as if you ever needed any help in that department. Your usual magnetic charm will be running on high, but you'll also be incredibly perceptive. It's almost not fair. The only thing you can do to make it up to everyone else is to share something they all want: a bit of your time. It's the least you can do ....

well no plans tonight since my baby brother josuv is out with his buddies... wanted to get boba with my mom, who said it was too cold for boba... so she suggested my brother... who left me for hanging out and gettin food... so now i am alone... ALONE! haha... not really. i'm never lonely...

but last night was super fun. i got together with my sister, kathy... and we had a larchmont run to the rite aid, the crumbs bakeshop (where i ran into Joseph Suh [shout out to Joseph Suh!!] who was buying cupcakes for his sister's bday!) and then we went to pinkberry to get some froyo! it was a super chocolatey evening... and then we ended up watching Wicker Park! crazy movie; i would say... borrow it. rent it.. don't steal it or barter for it.

and today kathy and i video chatted with my sister karen all the way baltimore, MD... and i got some snapshots of that! then kathy and i got ready and went to the glendale galleria and went shopping. shopping semi-successful. i was searching for a good pair of dark blue jeans... short in size.. but couldn't find any. but i did manage to buy 2 spring time vests! which are super cute and make me happy. ooh and i got a new case for my iphone. it's an orange incase. cute as well! i sound like im getting ditzier and ditzier every entry... am i? or is it just me?

don't know what i got planned for tonight, but best believe you will be updated about it. or not... maybe the next update will look like :

oh yea, and happy ash wednesday and lenten season [even tho i'm not the most devout catholic]!

so tomorrow's register for class day for me. blech!

 i kind of got stressed out because a couple of the classes i wanted to take got filled up. and there may be a slight chance that 2 of the classes will get filled up but i made an alternate schedule for that schedule. phew. 

safe to say, i think i covered my bases... so here's my new schedule for Spring 2010:

1. Education 109 - An analysis of the classroom as a microcosm of society. Focuses on issues related to meeting the educational needs of students with diverse backgrounds and characteristics including gender, religion, ability, ethnicity, culture, socioeconomic status, class, and language

2. Sociology 123 - Analyzes the emergence and development of human societies from hunters and gathers to horticultural, agrarian, and industrial forms of social organization. Explores social networks, societal change, the transition from food collecting to food producing, early Germanic societies, the rise of the West, and the causes of the Industrial Revolution.

3. French 4 - more french with J. Ramos (Shout out to prof Ramos!)

4. History 10 - uggghhh... A comparative introduction to the development of cultures in Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia. Topics covered are the origins of world civilizations; the classical world, or bronze age, from a global perspective; and the evolution of complex political systems throughout the medieval world. Includes a comparative discussion of world religions, West and East.

5. Education 172 - Addresses theoretical models of reading; linguistics and language development; methods and materials; children's and adolescents' literature; reading in the content areas; individual differences; and measurement and evaluation in reading. Includes observation and participation in assigned schools.  

and if that schedule fails, i've scheduled another french 4 without my beloved french prof! and a substitute for EDUC 172 being Ethnic Studies 131 - This course will compare and contrast race, class, and gender as basis of social inequality and oppression. It will focus especially on the intersection of all three, examining the experiences of poor and working-class women of color. but it's a FRIGGIN' 8 AM CLASS... not looking forward to the alternate schedule at all, but it's better than nothing. 

so that's a whopping 21 units in ONE QUARTER//10 weeks. pretty busy next quarter, but what can ya do? i'm friggin' exhausted right now. hungry and tired from the gym... and tired from trying to schedule a schedule + alternate schedule. but phew, now it's time to whip something up. i hunger!

when am i the most content?

sitting in my underwear for 23 of the 24 hours of the day. being able to take an afternoon nap only to wake up with a case of the munchies... having time when i have a day off from school like today and things just feel slow, but not lonely. and when i realize i took some of my mom's home-cooking back to our apartment. when i realize that there is an our instead of a my. am i feeling poetic? i guess just a little. when i make a sale on craigslist. [phew! the selling of my old point and shoot camera is over... but the search begins for a new upgrade...]. updating my blog and sharing. finishing the 9-5 workshop PART I... not thinking about the 9-5 workshop PART II but willing to prepare more amusement and entertainment for part II. knowing that Prague is the beer capital of the world. thinking about chugging irish car bombs; the only way i'd ever drink guinness beer which many would beg to differ [popular beer of choice]!  cleaned the world's most beloved hamster, Sally's, cage... just imagining how much she loves clean bedding. remembering the delicious chocolates i got as a present from someone who loves me. thinking about hot showers and clean everythings. hearing the television on in the living room because my panda boyfriend is alive and kicking and probably slouched over with his laptop baby. me feeling excited to re-join him in the living room... because i know he's been wondering what i was up to without him. and knowing that if i make him wonder any    l     o   n   g  e r,   his curiousity will lead him to the bedroom, where i sit typing. oh! here he comes. warm feelings <3

so... i got a lot of reasons to be happy ... but content? just these lucky few...

haha... so friday night ended up not being a big fail, but being a BIG HUMONGOUS SUCCESS...

it all started when the plans for chinese new year's eve were planned for early saturday night... and derek had something planned for before we go home saturday night that would make us late for the chinese new year's dinner... so we decided he could, since he wanted to, share that surprise with me friday night!

so he locked me up in the bedroom and all i could hear was furious whisking. and a garlicky smell! and i had suggested to him what i was craving... and it was shrimp linguine and seafoods! and he made just that and it was delicious. he even bought candles in that short span that he went shopping haha.

and it happened. i cried. it was all so nice and the candles were really setting a mood. and he even bought a bouquet of realllll roses, not to hand over to me, but to tear apart and sprinkle all over our dining table. and mumm napa... it shall remain in our hearts forever. such a pretty rose champage. got pretty tipsy haha! off that and other stuff. anyhow.... it was all so sweet and we finally exchanged presents. i gotCHOCOLATES yum and very pretty and expensive chocolates at that! and i gave him his flossin' bball shorts ahha... and a shirt. and his favorite nike socks that come in black. and some purple boxers! haha. to remember me by. and to stand out in his sea of blue boxers! and that one random pink pair of boxers. but our valentine's day was one of the best we've ever spent. partly because we had candlelit dinner in our pjs haha.. i guess thats how they say this is "how we roll". and chinese new year's eve dinner was fun and quite an honor to be there... since i am not really immediate family! but it was all so red. year of the tiger!

then i got together with kathy and joe and we played band hero all night... and had some boba haha as usual!

im at my sister's apt, the one they call kathy.. or as i like to say it kaffy because that's how the kids i used to baby-sit often used to say it... i wonder how they're doing! bigger everytime i see em. and cuter too! [shout out to YUMI! that's their mother]

got my french class later today. man, that's all i ever talk about, huh? french blah blah... it's cuz i have it 4 days outta 5 each week. but thank goodness i'll be done with it by next quarter! french 4 and i'm done! i still havent found a good used car yet. hopefully hopefully hopefully by march...

just had a jilberto's carne asada burrito. shared it with derek. cuz he bought it... haha. it was pretty tasty. chock full of meat! yummm.

tonight, no plans... and it's a friday night haha! just staying in... probably doing nothing. just being bored.

it's almost march... which means it's almost may... which means... it's almost my birthday!!!!

more importantly, my 21st birthday!! wow... i'm old. 

off to french class in about 20. i took my nonviolence in-class "writing opportunity" test today... it was kind of hard... but i was able to write down stuff. and i almost forgot to write the 2nd essay because i thought we only had to write about one! but it was like... 3 IDs and 2 short essays. not bad... but a lot of work!

then i drove , yes drove! down to taco bell cuz i was hungry and didnt have anything at the apt... to cook in less than 5 minutes. bought 3 chalupas, but only ended up eating 2 haha... man, tacobell... can't say i love it or hate it.. it's just... tacobell...

so yah... weekend's coming up. heat concert... im not sure if derek and i will end up going... i have that workshop and then it's our valentines day! we're gonna celebrate it a day earlier because he has work on valentines day... stinky... but im excited nonetheless!

 hmmm... week 7 isnt it next week? man... this quarter went by pretttty dang fast. it was like a whirlwind. not as memorable as last quarter. i think i'll be getting at least 2 As and 1 B and 1 C... on my marks for this quarter. stupid history... haha... i just can't stick it! :( but i'm hoping for an A in my french, dance, and nonviolence class.. if not 2 As and  1 B... oh well...

yay. belle & sebastian. i re-discovered them because i was perusing the used CDs at the used CDs and DVDs store by the lecture theater hall. which i pleasantly found out my french friend worked at! she isn't french, we just take french together... [shout out to Grace Abergas!] 

sooooo.... history class was not as bad as i anticipated. but i did, however, choose to ditch my history lecture, yea the one at 9:40 am... it just sucks to wake up at 8:40 am to get ready for a 9:40 class... so i just don't do it! bad bad bad.

ooh. india arie - video came up on shuffle. thank goodness it wasn't like sean paul... not that there is anything wrong with sean paul... but anyhow. this song's always a fun song to listen to at about 4 in the afternoon or 5... too bad it's only 3.. and im indoors. i like to call 4 and 5 pm the golden hours because when you're outdoors, the colors just seem so golden and make everything look just... peaceful. but my uncle who just got into photography explained golden hours for photographers is right before the sun rises in the morning. opposite of what i thought :-/

hopefully, when my family and i go back up north to see them for xmas this year, he'll have some extra professional cameras to hand down to his niece :)

man... i gotta schedule an appointment for the dermatologist for that blotch on my left cheek that seems irritated all the time.. and also maybe about my right leg and bikini zone. darn sensitive skin and costly skin healing medications. i gotta go through health insurance and bureaucracy to get me some skin healing medications.

got my french class in about 2 hours. i totally forgot about what time it was... this is a lonngggnngngngng entry aint it? you enjoyin it? you likin it? you want it's numbah? well... valentine's day is getting closer and closer and im excited to give my present with my valentine :) he's gonna be flossin' with the stuff i got him haha... FLOSSIN' i like that expression. that's the word! expression! pretty random stuff i spilled isn't it? from french class to valentines day. but you know, zee french language eez a rrromance language zo you cannot blame meee. muhhhhh... i had boba cafe and that includes a $1 passionfruit green tea with boba. and my burps will taste like passionfruit for the duration of the day... hooray! man it was the first meal i had in days... uh ohhhh anorexia for me! jk i could never deny food. food is good. food is GREAT. food is love :)

we, well he, made some garlic salt cheese fries... bad news for me... cheese and lou don't mix well... but lou love cheese. sad truth, it just is...

i had a fairly awesome day except for the rain... my purple flats got soaked in rain while i was waiting for my knight in shining armor to pick me up... i was shivering and cold... and we were gonna go to the gym... but the rain got me down... and i wanted to just take a hot shower... which i did :) 

haha after i remarked on greasy lips making pimples wherever he kissed me, derek decided to brush his teeth. he would really do anything for me... and me for him. smooshy, i know... but it's the happy truth. those fries were worth the greasy lips. except now it smells like hot grease all throughout the apartment. i hate how the kitchen is right between the bedroom and the living room... when i have my own house, the kitchen is going to be closed off. completely!

am bummed about car search... i was close on the trail... but i fell off it... so i am still searching, but im so close to giving up... and just letting my parents find me one...  

hmmm do i have a clip or music to share with you... let me see what tickles my fancy in my itunes library...well, i randomly chose J.Cole. i downloaded his whole album... but really only liked his "lights please" song. but i also like this song

man i took a half hour nap thanks for "A Very Long Engagement" being boring... and the rain pouring.... and now i am wide awake... plus all i had today to was a coffee and a pair of rice crackers... and just now with the fries.... oh wait im lying.. i had hot cocoa.... and sweet potato fries... the korean snack kind. yummmm it's like pringles.. you just can't stop. haha.... well tomorrow will suck. wanna know why? cuz i missed my history discussion last week... and i dont know whats going on for tomorrow's discussion. but i gotta go to my 9:40 am class... ugh ugh ugh. i dont even think there are notes up to take to lecture!

the search is on for a new used car AND febreze winds & springtime scent. i bought that febreze at target on sale like a year ago...because i suppose it wasn't a good scent... omg i completely forgot to talk about the lunch i spent with one of my freshman year friend's Jessica Chang.. of J.Chang [shout out to JCHANG!!!] as i lovingly call her! we had a lot of shit to talk about. i think tuesday's will be our day to chat MAYBE. we just caught up with all sorts of odds and ends... and ended up talking about some major stress causing issues in both our lives.. and to find out that we're kind of in the same boat... but i just wanna wish her mom a quick recovery because mommies mean a lot to me and i could tell that her mommy means a lot to her too. 

gonna send of that snail mail to my friend in valenciaaa, Tiffanie Tran! it's full of goodies sure to amuse her in  that studio she spends 14,000,000 hrs in :) go CalArts!
